About Asia Punch:

Growing up in smaller communities, Asia has always been enchanted by the allure of big cities while cherishing the natural beauty of the PNW. College in Olympia often came with whispers that Portland was just a bigger version. But guess what? Portland isn't just a bigger Olympia—it's even cooler!

Recently, Asia took on the role of Program Facilitator for David Douglas High School's inaugural Pacific Islander Program. Together with the students, they dove into the world of job hunting, celebrated their vibrant cultures, and explored local college campuses!

In her free time, Asia is a passionate writer and fiber artist. However, her current big project is the exciting journey of renovating her front garden and backyard. Despite not having done much gardening growing up, she is thrilled to learn by doing! Her vision is to create a cozy, welcoming space to enjoy with family, friends, and her sunbathing dog.

And let's not forget, Asia holds a BA from The Evergreen State College!

Welcome to UTOPIA - PDX, Asia! We’re absolutely thrilled to have you on board! Get ready for an amazing journey together!

What is your favorite Islander Food?

Spam Fried Rice YUMMM (or my mom's banana donuts if we're talking dessert!!)

What is your most meaningful memory with someone who is a member of the QT/PI community or with your culture?

Getting to confirm that family members of mine were QTPI and were able to find success and happiness was such a monumental revelation growing up. It helped me feel safe and seen!

What are you most excited to do or achieve during your time at UTOPIA PDX?

Helping people is one of my passions in life, and working at UTOPIA PDX gives me the opportunity to not just be a part of this mission to help our community get the resources they need to thrive, but also to support our awesome team!
