BIBA MES CHAMORU MONTH! 🇬🇺🇲🇵
This March we highlight our Chamorro community and staff who spend the month celebrating their love for their culture and community for Mes CHamoru Heritage Month. We take this month as an opportunity to honor our ancestors, culture, community, and traditions.
We understand the diverse ways our culture is commemorated, appreciated, observed, and respected because of the impact of colonization. We believe our lived experiences engaging with our culture are valuable and a celebration whether we were born and raised on the islands or grew up in the diaspora. The stories, history, and culture we pass on are a promise to uphold the love and appreciation we have for our people and islands.
This month is an opportunity to express joy and gratitude for the Marianas and the cultures that thrive within them. We honor our ancestors, our heritage, and the stories we share. We honor those who came before us and those who will come after us. May we continue to grow and honor our heritage beyond March. May we continue to learn and watch our traditions unfold and uphold.
